Since its inception in 1994, New American Paintings has been dedicated to discovering and promoting the work of exceptional emerging artists. Working with museum curators and other art world professionals such as art critic Jerry Saltz, we review the work of thousands of artists each year and present the best in each bi-monthly Issue of the magazine. New American Paintings has given early exposure to many artists who have gone on the achieve international acclaim, including: Eddie Martinez, Njideka Akunyili Crosby, Jordan Casteel, Robin F. Williams, Vaughn Spann, Loie Hollowell, Amy Sherald, Shara Hughes and numerous others.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis and New American Paintings’ 25-year commitment to supporting emerging artists, we are pleased to be offering our latest Issue for FREE to the world in digital form. Issue #145 presents the work of forty gifted painters from the Pacific Coast. Selections were made by Christine Y. Kim, Associate Curator of Contemporary Art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles CA.
