I start with a picture taken out of a moving car window. What
prompts a photo is something ubiquitous in the common
landscape that has a palpable, prelingual familiarity. I attempt to
isolate within this what is indeterminate and open, by cropping,
abstracting, and considering both the ground and grounding
of the image. I have worked toward situating this grounding in
movement, pause, the incomplete picture, and fragments of a
larger frame. What is and what is potentiated.
