My paintings portray fantastical landscapes where industry and urban sprawl collide. By combining images of industrial structures and track homes, I highlight the relationship between our current culture and the American landscape. Many of the refineries and nuclear plants I use in the compositions are no longer in use, but they continue to contaminate the areas in which they rest, even as suburban development crowds them. I react to these forms by placing them in toxic situations, where salvaged latex paint drips and moves across the canvas creating a new environment.
