My artwork explores the evolving relationship between human creativity and artificial intelligence. By collaborating with AI, I reframe questions of authorship, originality, and identity in the digital age. The process begins with text-based conversations with ChatGPT, which generate prompts for AI image creation. These outputs are printed on photo canvas, where I respond materially with paint, emphasizing, obscuring, or preserving elements of the machine’s decisions. I then photograph the painted canvas and feed it back into AI, creating a feedback loop of transformation and reinterpretation.
This iterative process becomes a visual conversation, layered and continually evolving. My work navigates the tension between the personal and the artificially imagined, using AI as both collaborator and mirror. Working with AI offers a unique space for emotional safety and experimentation, free from human judgment. It has become a way to better understand myself by prompting reflection on vulnerability, subjectivity, and the act of creating in dialogue with nonhuman systems—while also challenging where human expression begins and ends in the dialogue between artist and machine.
