I think of painting as daily sustenance for the artist, simultaneously
an utterance the artist molds and shapes to share with others.
My work offers intimacy through personal narratives laid out for
communal reflection and engagement.
For me, memory is a relic you carry, a seed you grow, a meal
you share . . . It waxes and wanes. The process of excavating,
embedding, and renewing past materials through painting
parallels the psycho-emotional and spiritual journey I take when
I am remembering something. I key in on a certain moment, and
the fragmented image manifests tangibly into a familiar object. It
becomes mundane, then strange again, and wondrous.
