Disruption, upheaval, and the passage of time provide the subject and the process for my paintings. I develop my landscapes by imagining windstorms, earthquakes, and tidal waves moving through the paint on the panel. I work backwards and forward between order and chaos, putting form together and taking it apart. I hope to create tension between abstraction and depiction, familiarity and uncertainty, and the natural and the artificial.
